I also had issues with a set of superbrightleds license plate bulbs. I don't feel that it's a quality issue, it's the voltage range that they're built to handle. After they quit working for me I went to the parts store for some stock replacements. After about two months, one of them had burned up and both of them had warped the lens they mount in. So basically, even what the parts store says will work still isn't up to the task. The other link they are posting is meant for higher voltage and have worked great for me since August.

Oh by the way, I really like the way the 35% tint looks, I was thinking about doing that to my car soon since I have a red/black theme on the rest of the car. Unfortunately, it is illegal to have anything darker than 50% in Minnesota so I am going to try to get a prescription from my eye doctor for 35% tint to avoid tickets.

The ones I put in my license plate lights blinked so I took them out. I am going to switch to the Sylvanias that just came out since I have Silverstars in every other socket on my car. I figure if Sylvania will put their name on led lights they must actually work.

Those 42draft LEDs i have as well, and havent had an issue with them. Read a few posts of others burning out after about 2 months. As for HIDs, the correct way is like some said already, a projector retro fit. But, youll be fine throwing them in the stock housing as i did untill you gather up the funds to do a retrofit.
Love that color by the way. |

Those bulbs are bright enough to light up the ground under the bumper. They are not blue at all, they are close to 5000k headlight bulbs (pure white) if that description helps. I will try to take a pic tonight if I get a chance.

Nice car. I don't think ambient lighting is all that rare. Like the options and I hope your ride is as reliable as mine. Our mk 2 versions seem bullet proof. Enjoy and welcome.
