2000 Ford Focus Blower Motor! NEED HELP

Hey everyone, today while driving to work i turned my heat down from 4>3 and the entire blower unit stopped. Fan doesnt work on any setting, rear defrost works, and the light for the circulate air comes on, but AC doesnt. I can feel heat in the vents but no pressure.

I replaced the resistor today, it did not help. I checked the fuses (visually) and they seem to all be fine, I am thinking it could be the switch (which is a dealer part) but other than that looking for any other suggestions?

Pop the switch out and take a look at it. On my old '00 the switch itself melted and and stopped functioning.

I'd take a battery charger and go direct to the motor to prove it out. If it runs, it isn't the motor. I'd try that first then go to the switch.

I'm not sure how I would go about putting the motor to a battery. I have removed the switch, it doesn't look in bad shape, but if that switch was gone, would the Air conditioning light still not come on? are they connected?

There should be two heavy wires going to the blower motor. Disconnect these wires from the switch and plug a battery charger to the motor lead ends. Doesn't matter which way you jump the motor wires, motor will run both ways. That is, if it isn't locked up. Remember it/s 12 volts, not 6.

Replace the motor. I had the same symptoms last summer. The resistor was fine. Do not hook up battery voltage to the switch! Get the Haynes manual and follow instrustions. Auto Zone had a new motor for $75. Actually, after replacement, I found out that the old motor just died due to carbon build up on the brushes. Cleaned brushes motor works fine now so I have a back up. There's a how to thing somewhere on here, very helpful.
