The New Guy
I just bought a 2003 ford focus SVT. So that makes me one of the new guys around here. I always wanted one but I never had a good opportunity to purchase one. I was out shopping for cars in ofallon il, and i wasn't really feeling any of the cars ive looked at. Terrance,the salesman, tells me he has a really nice mini cooper werks but he has to go find it at another lot, so he takes off to find the car and he was gone for a good 20 minutes. Im looking up the reliability ratings on the mini cooper and its not looking good. They were getting ready to close up for the weekend so I was thinking about heading out, and then, he pulled up in one of the cleanest black focus svt's I have seen in a long time. My wife told me my eyes bugged out when i saw it. It was mine. SOOO, ive been doing lots of research and just learning about my new ride. Im not a newb to the performance world as I use to own a vr6 jetta and a 5.0 fox. So hopefully I can contribute to the awesome community of the svt focus club.
As soon as i can clean the salt off of it, and install new tires Ill take some cool pics. Cheers!

well
Well after a week of driving this is what i know. I def need tires, but holy cow this thing handles so predictable. It doesn't need to dive into a corner and it really doesn't push either. Its incredibly neutral. My old vr6 you had to dive it into corners and it plowed the exit but this car goes were you point it. It rewards the driver the harder it is pushed. That being said I always obey the speed limit. For tires I am choosing between cooper rs3, or the dunlop instincts. I really like the cooper rs3's. Anyway its a keeper!! Ill be pulling the rear bumper to refinish the paint as it is faded....ford first on race day!!!
