Brake line on 2008 Focus
I was looking at my wife's car the other day, and noticed that the brake hose is routed from the caliper up to a piece of metal on the strut with an opening that the brake line went through. Only problem is, that the brake line is rubbing on the metal. There is a metal collar on the brake line right at that point, but no enough slack in line. I take it there is supposed to be a clip right there?
Here are a couple pics of what I am talking about. ALSO-- I have a post on "Wheels, Tires,Brakes & Suspension" named "Sounds in the front end of 2008 SES". I've had 115 views, but only one reply. If anyone has any feedback to those questions, please leave them for me. Thanks Steve ![]()

Yes, that is supposed to have a clip on it. If you look at the brake line in the second picture you will see how it's slotted to fit onto that part of the strut. Were your brake lines replaced at any time? I would seriously have this taken care of soon so you don't rub a hole in the line causing a more serious problem down the road.

there should be a rubber section on the hose that bulges out and has a slot around it that fits into that metal piece. It is about in the middle of the hose.

They were never worked on while I have owned the car. I bought it from someone that had bought it wrecked and sold it to me with a rebuilt title. According to him a lamp post had fallen on right side and he replaced the fender and door skin on right side. Of course I really don't believe that probably happened. I've had it for a couple of years. Bought it with 28,000 on it. I am going to call dealership to see if that is something that I can buy (brakeline clip)

I don't think you can it almost looks molded to the hose on my car. Brake lines are not all that expensive to buy and if you are handy and have a helper you can probably replace it yourself. I was lazy and paid to have all mine replaced with me having purchased the parts and that was only a few hundred.
