Ipod Connection to 2005 ZX5 existing stereo question

The existing factory installed stereo w/ CD player in my 2005 Focus ZX5 doesn't have a AUX jack.
Is there perhaps, a jack that can be utilized on the back of this receiver/CD player unit for playing an IPOD thru it, via an easily assessable cable and jack installation?
I want to be able to use the IPOD via a wired connection, and not with one of the FM transmitter units that connects to the IPOD and "transmits" via an unused FM frequency.
Is the use of a USA spec IPOD interface the only option?
If it is; would buying a new replacement stereo receiver with an easy access AUX jack on the face, be a better choice, considering that the IPOD Interface unit sells for $150?
(I rarely use the stock CD player, so that feature is a non factor.
I suspect that almost any replacement stereo receiver unit that sell for up to $150 is at least equal to, and likely even better quality, than the factory installed unit.
Is this a correct assumption?
Any input, suggestions, solution, to my question would be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks.

There is No hidden aux jack, your only option is to add an ipod interface.

It is best to just do some shopping for a new headunit. for $150 you can get a headunit that will have an ipod interface, possible bluetooth for hands free calling, and will sound much better over stock.

Thanks Sky Pilot; for your rapid reply, and answer to my question.
While I was hoping for an easy fix solution; I suspected that might be case.
Time start shopping for a new stereo receiver unit with IPOD capability. (I have no use for bluetooth capability.)
Do you have any recommendations relative to a reasonably priced, head unit that would be an easy to install replacement unit?
