I wonder what games my i5 laptop could run... I may install Steam and see if any of my games run lol. I think it has the 4000 graphics on-chip.
I wouldn't be sad if Fallout ran.

solid state is so worth it though. There are no load times in Oblivion for example, boot up takes like 15 seconds etc.

Just got a whole new set-up:
3rd Gen Intel Quad Core i7 3.5GHz 16GB RAM Navidia GeForce 660ti 2TB HDD Bluray Windows 8 (Which I hate so far...) Hopefully that will future proof me for a couple years...

I was and probably still will upgrade the processor to an i5 480m which is an overclockable 2.66ghz dual core up to 2.97ghz I believe, and also install 8gb ram. should be a nice sub $100 upgrade.

Started planning a custom water cooling setup. I figure, I'm 36, I probably won't have it in me to complete such a build in my later years, so... Why Not?!?
I'll see where it goes, but I'm doing some serious research :) It'll cost me, but not a lot, maybe a few hundred bucks to get a reliable setup. Checking out rads, pumps, reservoirs, tubing, etc. I want a complete custom setup. So far I've checked xoxide.com and ncix.com <-- (cause they're local-ish).

I turned my old netbook into a live cam with motion sensing that will start recording using some open source software.
I can check on my place on my cell phone from work. Part of the reason is just for something to do, but also a little bit of security. The people that work at my apartment complex like to go into peoples' apartments if a package is delivered to the office when the person isn't home. This is something I'm not a fan of, and they have continued to do it after being asked several times not to. It's usually the maintenance "kids" that come in and I'm not so sure I trust them.

If someone, anyone, entered my apartment when I was home, and I wasn't expecting them, it would be ON! I'd mess them up something serious (as long as they weren't family, friends, etc.....but they don't have a key). It's my home, I pay rent, if anyone wants in they'd better let me know they are doing so. I would also make it known, as in, tell the landlord I'll freak out if he/anyone ever comes in unannounced.

I imagine you probably can't put your own lock on it either.
My internet SUCKS. It's only in the dorm. elsewhere around the campus it's fine. Anywhere else I go, it's fine. BUT, it's only on my computer. My phone connects to wireless just fine as does anything else. I don't get it.

Yeah I can't put my own lock on without having to give them a key. They haven't done it while I'm home but I'll come home and a package will be sitting in my living room.
It bugs me a lot and I've told them to stop but it happens again and again.
