camshaft problem...need advice

so was going to change my timing belt after changeing my clutch cause svt focus wasnt getting compression....and looks like previous owner broke the exhaust side cam shaft.....where the plate lines the two camshafts up....so now i need a exhaust camshaft.....i just want a regular oem camshaft.....anybody got any good places where i can buy one or any good ideas....have never dealt with these kind of engines before so just want to make sure i do this right the first time

You can still line it up unless it broke it where it can turn the valves anymore. People have broken the tabs off the ends before. This is why we stress to not let the cam bar hold the cam in place while breaking the cam bolt loose.

id rather just get a new one.....i fell better if the part is right....do you got any idea if aftermarket companys make high performance camshafts and what i would need to do make them work

They do make aftermarket cam shafts but they are very very expensive. If your dead set on replacing it you can look for someone parting out a SVT or motor cause you'll have to go used, unless for sells those but it is doubtful and if they did it would be just as expensive.

yeah the tab on my intake side one chipped.. ran into bigger problems then that but when it was all said and done I still have the same cam, no issues

ordered one from dealership my company does business with.....180 bucks....shipped from detriot.....be here on thursday.....if i ever upgrade the cam do they sell high performance cams and would i need to get a tune
