Brake upgrade!

Hi everyone! Hoping Someone could assist with some info concerning a brake upgrade. Looking to convert the stock brake system to all disks and was wondering if, beside the svt, an st170 brake swap would work? Or any other mk1 variation that might be out there. Thanks peeps!

Any discs brakes from the MK1 will work just fine. SVT, ST, ST170 all have the same brakes, iirc. There were even some ZTS's that had rear discs that you could use too.
FYI: You will not find an ST170 in North America.

My 05 ST is disc all around, maybe you could snag some parts from that. Trying to be helpful

Like what was said. ^^^^^^^^ Try the '05-'07 st's. You can upgrade from there, if your wanting bigger rotor's. TCE uses a 11.75'' Wilwood 2 piece rotors.

Thanks guys... Didn't consider the 05-07's. I don't necessarily want to go bigger just better. And I was looking at getting brakes from the UK for the st170s but wanted to ask about the compatibility first. Want to look for the best deal so I wanted the largest options.

I have the Baer track claw kit in the front= 13'' rotors w/ pbr calipers & 11.75'' Wilwood rotors for the rear. Best cost effective I could find that fits 17'' svt wheels. I missed getting Baer's 12'' rear kit.

I noticed the other day a guy in the for "sell section" of the forum is selling the entire back end of a ST170. That really should be a plug and play conversion... just a really big plug and play conversion ...

Fronts: Still a few(5-6) bnib SVT complete front brake upgrade kits left. Price is $475+ shipping from Tousley Ford. Rotors are 12"/300mm. There are larger aftermarket kits but you still need the SVT knuckles which Ford does not make anymore. Also these aftermarket kits are not cheap.

Rears: Ford does not make the rear kit anymore which was about 11.2"/280mm so you have to get it used. As mentioned you can use the rear discs brakes from any focus 00-07 that came with rear discs. Also as mentioned there are some larger aftermarket options but they are not cheap. Also when it comes to the rears you can still get the spindles and the hubs w/bearings from Ford bnib. It was the caliper mounting bracket part they discontinued that killed the kit.

Thats really a bummer about that as far as the caliper brackets. What the heck was FRPP's thinking? A lot of people are still modding these cars.
