Ever since we got the car in aug of 2011 we have never had issues with the software other than the odd nav freeze...not a big deal....
We got snow tires in dec and they did a mytouch update as well....now there are some messed up issues....

If i shut the car off, leave the music playing and turn on the car...it will switch sources to av in.....and i will have to switch it to usb manually.
the fix to this is to force mytouch to shut down (open the door)...and when i start the car again it will still be on usb as normal.
The other issues is the rear view camera never has the right guide lines...it will randomly lose or add the wheel lines....lose or add the sensor boxes. Its soo random. It doesn't even matter if i manually adjust the settings....it will just do what it want it seems.

I stopped caring as i dont really need the visual assistance.

anyways...its kinda funny how i have never had an issue amongst all the reported issues. Arent updates supposed to make things better?...lol
For the audio input issue, on mine I can simply power it off and back on and it cures the issue.

Perhaps you can help me? I have a Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2 and my wife has a Nexus 4 running 4.2.2 as well. Our MFT is at 3.5.1. Metadata is the least of our problems. MFT sees both devices--in that it offers them as a source. But it won't play anything. You can press the Play arrow and it shows the Pause bars and nothing else happens. I know mine has tunes--ACC, in a folder I created. I even pushed a tune from my phone to my wife's via BT just in case something else was going on. Music Player see/plays tunes on both phones. MFT? Not so much... Is there something special about what folder the tunes need to be in? I'm pretty sure this worked back in the ICS days and pre 3.5.1. Hadn't tried it again till my wife got her Nexus 4 two weeks back and I told her the car could play tunes from her phone only to find out that no, it couldn't...

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

When your connected is the volume on the phone turned up? Android has independent volumes for different functions. Just treat the bluetooth connection like you would for a headset.

If it helps I have a galaxy nexus with 4.2.2 and it connects wonderfully, although meta tags or txt messaging has never worked.

I took my car into the dealer for scheduled service and found out that there's a shiny new performance update out for MFT. I am not sure what version it is because it doesn't show up on SMR after a vehicle health report, and I've been too lazy thus far to go in to diagnostic mode for the details.

The update fixes the FM voice command bug, that's the only change I've noticed so far. If I get some time this week I'll poke around with it a bit to see if there's anything new or other known problems that might have been fixed.

Did you have 3.5.1 before?

This new update continues to be a total POS for me. I never had any issues with the old builds, but I'm having to do a master reset once a week now. The main issues are with the audio, I am unable to change music sources or stations, and even though the reverse guidelines option is set to off, they pop up 50% of the time when backing up.

How is this "better?"

Click the "gears" on the bottom of MFT screen. Then Help, then System information. The original build of 3.5.1 is CCPU S/W Version 4.29.12285_PRODUCT.

Let us know if yours is different. Also, what was the FM voice command bug you were having?

Yeah, it looks like the dealer installed v3.5.1 over v3.5.1 for me. I told them it already had that version but they insisted they had a brand new release.

To reproduce the the FM bug, set the system to USB or satellite, hit the voice button and say "FM", it should announce that that device has been disabled for your safety. Do it a few more times and the system goes into bluetooth pairing mode.

It doesn't reproduce with the "AM" command.

The FM bug is still there. When I first tested it the system was already set to FM and it doesn't reproduce from there.

I've experienced nothing but top notch service from my dealer so I am not upset about this, it's kind of comical.

ahh, if you just say the FM or AM frequency(i.e. 98.7) it will tune to that station without needing to say FM or radio. JSYK

Yes, I am aware of that workaround but I'd prefer to just say FM and have the system switch to the last FM station I was listening to.
