2.0l to 2.3l head swap
Ive done a lot of reading up on this. and i see its possible. its just no one shows the build and what complications they came into. Ive also called around to local scrap yards to see if they have and 2.3l in there yard. they all pretty much said to me is the ford ranger doesnt have a 2.3l. i asked for the ford focus 2.3 and they dont have them in there yards :( im pretty sure the mazda speed and a few others have the 2.3l engine in them. ford owns mazda? but im not sure if it would be the same design or if it would bolt on. Has anyone done this swap? the honda kids in my town are constantly doing this. its like they have a grave yard of vtec's in there garage because there always swapping something. to me it seems like a good idea to gain a couple extra tq and hp, for not that expensive of a build, and a good project :)

The 2.3 head in the 2002+ ranger is the same as your current one
The mazda heads have VCT, which your car doesnt. This is the same for Escape, Fusion, Mazda 3,5,6 etc. The right 2.3 can be found in 03-04 cars with a Z in the vin, and the 05-07 ST. Try car-part.com to locate a yard instead of calling. Might save a lot of time

Not as much as you're going to want to hear. You will be increasing the combustion chamber size and improving breathability to the next stock part. My newest general rule of thumb: "If not forced induction or tuning computer be, expect less than double digit power gains for thee."

The only problem with the motor swap is I can't get the room in my garage. My parents got way to much toys for each season. Also I can't find anyone in my research that has done the head swap :( so I don't even know if it's worth it
