Question Hopefully an easy question..

Does anyone know how to remove the "blocker" or "dummy insert" right below the right most control knob?? (circled below)

I want to figure out how to setup some real switches back there..

I searched real quick but could not find anything.

I could be wrong, but I believe that piece has 2 retaining clips on the top and 2 on the bottom. Take a spudger, insert between it and the console, work magic, pop out.

Pics for reference in case you're still wondering.

That's not broken. It's a credit card holder and was designed as such to provide functionality rather than an empty blanking plate for cars without the active park assist feature

Yes, a credit card holder in case your wallet breaks, or your car wants to go on a shopping spree while you're somewhere else.

Anyone ever wired up a switch/button to this area before?
Something that doesn't look like doo doo?

Or...very handy for access control cards to get into gated lots.

Sure, but very few people have such cards, I have two HID access cards and they are too thick for the slots.

At least they tried to do something useful with the blank out panel, but honestly, how high is "credit card holder" on anyone's interior accessory list?

I suppose if they had done something really useful with the spot, the people with park assist would complain that they lost a feature.
