I've got two coils with hairline fractures at the top, which I presume are causing my is fire and rough idle issues. I'm looking at $131.95 per coil, but wanted feedback on where to find them for much less? Any recommendations?
I assume you have the 2.0 dohc? Autozone lists them for only 89.99 a piece. That saves you 40 bucks per.
Rockauto.com shows some for 27 bucks up to 80 bucks, but theres not much of a description on most of them. But at 27 bucks a pop, I think I'd take a chance on those.
Can I ask you where you got that quote? Even if you have to pay shipping and duty you can get a set of four genuine Motorcraft parts for considerably cheaper than that from most US sources. Probably some local Canadian sources too.
Google
Ford Part # 4M5G-12A366-BC
Motorcraft DG507
Absolutely, my quote was from Canadian Tire. I was told by the guys at CT that the Ford coils are notorius for causing problems, hence I'd prefer to try a different manufacturer.
Nothing wrong with the Ford coils they just want to sell you some crap at a considerable markup. Most people never have issues with the OEM Ford coils during the entire lifetime of the car.
