Old Threads - Eagle Eyes Install
What happened to the old thread talking about these lights? Why does stuff disappear?
I've got a set of lights and I wanted to look through it so I don't scratch up my bumper taking my originals out... There was also talk of a plug to put in backwards... Where did it go?

Not too sure, but speaking from personal experience, place a towel down on the bumper before doing anything. There is a metal clip on both sets of lights that can scratch your bumper if you aren't careful. The small red plug is +/- sensitive and if it doesn't work flip it around and try all combinations of both sides (If one side isn't plugged right neither work) And if that doesn't work you have to CAREFULLY flip the metal contacts from one side to the other.
If you have any questions about this let me know. Learn from my mistakes, I scratched my bumper AND broke one of the metal leads coming out of the red plug...

Suck - I got both installed and didn't scratch the bumper, but the damn clip broke on my pass side marker stuff so I had to use electrical tape to thicken it up and jamb it on there....
Light output with 55W 6K HID's are AMAZING - I've got to do some pointing, but so far much better than before... This is what I started with- ![]() ![]() ![]() Yeah, all three of those pictures suck.

Everything worked perfect for me at first - then with a friend one headlight didn't want to fire and I turned the lights on and off a few times and it was fine. Fast forward to this morning and I can't get the damn pass side to light up at all. It fashed a few times and nothing - my drivers side was pulsing for awhile too. I'm wondering if I need a relay kit for these - what has everyone else been running into? This is a 55W kit - the damn headlights came with 65W lights. Do the ballasts pull MORE power initially?

...and you are using a relay harness? ![]() ![]() ![]() - I've got some older ballasts in my Contour SVT, I might pull one and see what is up... which means pulling the headlight, which SUCKED to do in the first place! I was so worriued about breaking a clip!

Yeah. My relay connects to both bulbs and ballasts then to the battery. I contacted my seller of the kit and they want to do an exchange. I really like the look of these. Kind of hard to rock the halogens again lol Also my license plate led started to flicker *hurt*

Great - well parking in the (warmer) garage has yielded good results. If I power on the parking lamps, wait a second and hit the headlights they light up. Yesterday I got only the driver side, so I went back to parking and tried again and got both.
Not cool in my book, but its working. I think it has something to do with power disruption when you are trying to power one ballast and then another. The parking ballasts trying to fire when the 55w ballasts are trying to fire must interupt the signal or something.. For now I'm just going to chalk it up to too much draw/dirty power from the ballasts. I would like to get the parking crap sperate of the headlights if possible.
