That car is actually from Germany and, belongs to SVT/Ford. Its a press car that has been loaned out to many people here in metro Detroit. Multiple people from this site, have even had a go in it.

There's a couple of green ones sitting in the SVT parking lot on google maps...

It's like that in DFW for GM. I saw a Cadillac hatchback on TX HWY 360 3-4 miles from the GM Truck plant, and I went home to look it up, and it's a development car. Wish I would have known to snap a picture since I might have been able sell it poperatzi style.

Se la vive...

Try living in Detroit.. you see all sorts of new stuff or cars that have never and will never have here.

So you're saying a Cobalt SS performed better than the Focus RS on the Nürburgring?

Damn I checked. 07 Cobalt SS= 8:22.85 Ford Focus RS= 8:26

The Cobalt was driven by an unnamed person for Motortrend. The Focus was driven by Horst Von Saurma, a regular "Ring" driver. All I can say, is WTF? I guess it must have the magnetic shocks and suspension similar to the ZL1 and Caddy. I'll have to look that up. Either way =RS, sorry, but facts is facts. That's fairly sorry to have a limited edition car upstaged by a craptacular run of the mill Korean designed American labeled tird muffin with a turbo.

You do know that Chrystler has all their ECUs on lockdown, right?

The only way to tune Bosch ECUs with tuner protection enabled w/o a key is to J-Tag the wafer board and bypass the bootloader to it doesn't check the CHKSUM. You have to know how to tune via tuner shop tools like WinOLS or ECM Titiainium --and the tools for that will set you back $5000+

I've got some serious custom work going on in my VW with a Bosch ME17.5, and I had $5k+ in tuning equipment b/c I won't take retail box tunes with set hardware and I'm not willing to drive out to Alientech USA in Kentucky every time I want a damn setting altered. Chystler is even more draconian with their tuner protection on similar ECUs --most people have to run piggyback even with the SRT line.

ECU tunability on Fords (espceially the ST lines) are why I want to get another one so badly. VW only make the .:R line tunable via the port --and that always takes a year or so...
