adding a tachometer?

My 07 hatch has no tac. What are my options other than the digital one that you can get to on the LCD .

That will leave you with two main choices;

One, you can buy and wire up an analog tach and driver for it. Then find a place to mount it.

or

Buy a 05-07 gauge cluster that has a tach on it already. I know the 06-07s are an exact plug and play (i did that, cant say for sure if 05 will be the same) The car's mileage is stored to the cluster, so if you swap a new one in; it will have that new mileage displayed. So that leaves you with three choices; have the wrong mileage (not good,) find one with the mileage close to yours and swap over once they match or have a Ford dealer reprogram the new one to match (you will have to call around to find out who can do it and how much.)

Ebay will have the best variety. Just search for "07 focus cluster" and see which ones have a tach and what the mileage is. Should cost anywhere from $30-100, and be patient...I spent six months searching on and off for one with close mileage.


Also, not a real solution but more of a temporary one/gimmick. If you have a smart phone, you can buy a $20 ODBII bluetooth that can display the RPM's on your phone with app like torque.

Cluster swap is the way to go. You can sell you old one after you get the one with a tach and the net price will be hardly anything if you play your cards right.
