Another advantage of the standard tranny: It's $1,000 cheaper on the SE.

N.B., that if you get the Titantium, the price is the same with either transmission. Not surprisingly, that makes manual Titaniums hard to find.

Seriously, save yourself the headache and go with the 5speed and never look back.
It is hit or miss, im getting around the epa estimates with my 5spd, but in general the DCT gets better MPGs

The 5-spd is not annoying or buzzing at highway spds imo.

But test drive both transmissions and see what you can live with. Compare the many threads on this forum about DCT and see if you want to risk being among them.

Just peruse the forums after you search for DCT and the nightmares are a plenty. So glad we got the 5 speed.

DO NOT GO WITH THE DCT

I know some people like theirs and all but mine is nothing but trouble; to put it plainly its a piece of shit! Its actually what makes me hate this car

Get the 5-Speed or no Focus at all IMO

Our car sees very little hwy driving and my wife's commute is barely a mile each way so on top of the car barely reaching it's operating temp on the average commute and me being a bit heavy on the skinny pedal when I drive it we are getting a 26-27mpg and that's right where Ford says it should be so the 5 speed has been good to us.

Does DCT account for most of the owner complaints on these cars, are they pretty reliable in 5spd manual form?
DCT and MFT account for probably 90% of the complaints I see about the focus. That's why I bought a 5 speed, non-MFT. All you have to do is look at the front page of this forum at all the stickied threads to know the DCT is a huge issue.
