Here's the next thing on my list of idiotic car decisions:
I'm trying to figure out how much quieter this FSWerks stealth exhaust would be! I have gotten older, and the race header w/ MBRP resonated catback (pretty much straight out) has gotten a tad too loud to drive all the time with... I'm looking at fabbing up an electric cutout and y-piping both outlets back to the same tip... but space is a major issue. Just for 'gigs' I'm wiring up some resistors to the device to have three settings: on, off, and Honda (automatically open at 5k rpms)

I've been wondering why the idle was so high the last month or so, and as I was pulling in to use my lift after work for an aesthetic job; curiousity just finally got the best of me. Lookie what I found:
![]() ![]() ![]() So I need to get that pice over my lunch break tomorrow. I was able to get to the real reason for the lift, though. ![]() ![]() ... because I'm screwed up; that's why. I had an extra one (Thanks Berryman! You can barely see the Kabar marks anymore) so I got it done with a pile of stuff. People were ribbing me about "you'll never get to see it"... I know it's there, though...

You can hear the noise of the car flexing and the suspension rubbing inside the wheel well... a 25mm rear sway bar has alleviated that symptom! I can't confidently say it's gone completely, as I haven't autocrossed this new setup, and really run-the-piss out of it yet; but any improvement is good!
And it also raised my anticipation of the Coal Country run from 'high' to 'ridiculousness'!!! @ the 1:55-2:05 mark you'll hear it when the weight dips the front corners... ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBX8OmCYD10

I followed another member's thread regarding HID upgrades, that led me to an hour's worth of research on the The Retrofit Source (TRS) website and an email inquiry as to what pieces I'll need to upgrade my FR200 projectors to full HID glory... and I got a real human response (not some damn form letter)!
Hey Matt Thanks for your email and link to pictures--very helpful for reference! Your retrofit is a bit tricky in that the projector needs to be sealed from the elements. Since none of ours are waterproof right out of the box, you'll need to seal one off using aluminum tape and 100% silicone sealant. Aside from that, though, your options are plentiful if the space immediately behind these projectors is relatively wide open (which it appears to be). As such, it depends on if you're looking for excellent projectors or far better than stock--the excellent projectors being larger but more of a 'closed' design far easier to seal up. I personally think two sets of the FX-R units would be my starting point: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=101. Since each projector has a low/high function, you'll basically have a four-low four-high setup all the time and tons of light on the road without bothering others by glare. Wiring is pretty simple since we would remove all of the existing wiring as part of the retrofit, and our harnesses are fully operable on a first-gen Focus. Let us know what you think about the above recommendation and if you have any other questions in the interim. Thanks again Matt for the opportunity to help with those slick FR200 lamps! So now I'm also trying to see what these guys recommend for converting the fog lights to HID... or entirely stand-alone untis to fab brackets for on the inside of this new RS front bumper (extreme dimensions).
