Stat in backwards would overheat everywhere and all the time.
OP should first verify whether fans are positively working when car is overheating. Could be fifty other things besides temp sensor. |

fans are working, i can hear them going when its hot. can anyone tell me where the thermostat is exactly? is it inline a hose, or on the water pump area? also a location to the temp sensor would be much apreciated. thanks again.

ok guys, so im still at a loss on this problem. has anyone experienced anything like this. the engine is a 2.0 duratech. the thermostat is new, the waterpump is new. the fans work properly, the fan blades are good. but the car still overheats. down a hill in 5th at 70mph with a light foot, it is fine, but as soon as there is a slight up hill increase, if i add a slight bit more gas to copensate, the tempurature goes up pretty rapidly. the tempurature is fine at idle though, and if i down shift and accelerate the temp goes down conciderably, or all the way back to normal. if anyone has any clue what is going on, please let me know. if yall need a video, i can try and post one too. thanks in advance for your help.
