What I Drive: 2012 Yellow Blaze SE sedan

Today we checked a few more samples, and after examining them from various angles we found one which will likely be the closest we can get. The magic combo was a new shade of base coat with four layers of pearl on top. Now the skirts can be painted!

And we get to do this all over again when the rear valence eventually gets replaced. Yay!

Sweet man Thats the biggest problem with pearls lol... or even Gold paint jobs, had a hell of a time trying to match a Caddy in college....

Pearls and metallics are a bitch cause of temp, the way a painter sprays them, humidity etc...

The grand total so far is $800. I have done more than most, but I also get a discounted price being an employee.

For the standard front-end coverage (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors) I'd budget around $500 or so.

The side skirts are back:



This morning the side skirts were picked up, now wearing their new coat of Yellow Blaze. They look amazing and the paint is flawless; which makes it harder to have to wait to install them.

With the 'deadline' for the next round of updates a little under three months away now (the first big show of the season) I still have time to keep working on the car to get it ready, and these have a while to cure fully.

Next I need to track down a couple more clips which are unique to the ST side skirts, and new front mud flaps.

In the meantime, a few more photos...

This little guy (Steeda short throw bracket) arrived a few days ago. I'm still waiting on a chance to install it so that I can test it.
