Euro-spec mirrors on North American focus.

Hello friends,

I want to replace the side-view (power) mirrors on my 2000 SE with folding mirrors from a Mk1 European Focus.

I have had my driver's side mirror broken off three times now (and the passenger side once) because they cannot be folded against the car. I live in the city, and the car is always parked on the street. Anyway, did a little research and discovered one of the many ways in which the European market Mk1 Focus was superior to the North American version is that the mirror "wings" fold.

Has anyone done this? I see no reason why the European parts should not fit, and would get a real kick out of this if it works.
