ST2 Red Seat Inserts...what market?

I just did some internet digging.... as mentioned above, Canadians have the full leather Recaro's standard...and thats it. The Europeans ( at least the Germans) have a full cloth Recaro's standard, and optional partial leather seats ( our ST2) with grey, yellow, blue, or red inserts, as well as the full leather Recaros.

Have you sat in the Recaros? I've sampled both seats, and I wouldn't even consider buying an ST1 since it doesn't have them. (Unless it turns out to be cost-effective to swap in the Recaros later on.)

I test drove an ST3 and a ST2 before buying my ST1. The Recaro seats were comfortable enough but not more comfortable than the ST1 seats. The thing I didn't like about them was there was no wiggle room (as it should be for a racing seat) which I figured would become uncomfortable on long trips. Based on the number of folks starting to complain about the lack of long distance comfort my concern has been shown to be well founded. The other thing I found that even with the Recaro seat all the way down I was bumping my head getting out of the car because the side bolster was so high.

I have no plans to participate in track days so I don't need the extra side support. The basic Sync system in our 12 Focus does everything I want. I don't listen to much music so the standard stereo is fine. It just didn't make sense for me to purchase a ST2 or ST3.

Correct. MFT is still an option but HIDs and full leather are standard with no other choices.

The only options are the technology package, sunroof, and Tangerine Scream paint.

Is there a specific reason that people know of as to why Ford made that decision? Are HIDs mandated by CAN?

What about the leather? Why not make those choices here in the US as well?

The MFT is way better, faster, on the 13 ST than it was in my 12 SEL
