Chrysler learned from the world-sharing on the EVO X; they had the opportunity to make the Caliber SRT4 an AWD. The intial belief was it wouldn't sell so when Mitsu turned their business around selling the hell out of them, notes were at least taken! Now this time around with the Dart's future unwritten still, the top of that lineup is 'supposed' to be working toward an evo-killer.

That should be in the 30k range. If the Dart SRT4 comes out with an AWD I will be getting that over a Focus RS. Talk about overcoming weight and 'poor handling' all you want; but your aftermarket dollar will buy a helluva lot more bang-for-the-buck than throwing wads of cash at the world's most balls-out fwd hot hatch to make it as fast.

At a price point close to $40k and with the only difference being the new engine and an LSD, i do not see much of a premium over the ST unless you track your car more than once or twice a month. I like the style and i like the power but it is like a new GT500, its the top of the line but to drive it to work every morning or go grocery shopping it is a pain. Its true what everyone says here, this is a track car for the street meant as a toy for people that already have their daily drivers and have nothing else to spend their money on.

I don't get it either. If performance is what one is after at what point is a front wheel drive Focus more desirable than a a new Mustang on a new lighter platform with the same 300+ HP 2.3 engine and rear wheel drive and an independent rear suspension? The only thing lost with such a new Mustang over a Focus RS is the sedan body style and the practicality of a usable back seat and these things are not a high priority with performance minded buyers.

I can't wrap my head around a $70,000 Mustang, but they still make them.

V10 Viper motor in a pick up? What idiot would buy one of those?

9,527 "idiots" bought them when the Dodge Ram SRT-10 was produced from 2003-2006. At the the time Guinness World Records recognized it as the world's fastest production pickup truck(154.587 m.p.h.).
