This is so strange to read. I had TWO dealers bending over backward to sell me my ST with Z-plan. But I just don't let them play their games. Yes, I let them have their fun scribbing down figures & running back & forth to the 'deal' office, but at the end of it all, if they can't meet my numbers, I shrug my shoulders & stand up. And this is when the real fun starts. More scribbling, more running, more 'altertnatives', etc etc etc.
My biggest warning to car buyers: Don't shop by payment, shop by price. When they ask you what you're wanting to pay per month, that basically gives them a blank check to work with. Negotiate the price of your trade and the price of their car separately, and make sure to keep your eye on both figures, because they like to change them without pointing it out. Also, don't let them go over 60 months if you can help it.
Head to the dealership and play the game, but play it your way....not theirs.
