After watching this video, I will never purchase a product from Royal/Dutch/Shell, (which owns Pennzoil). I'll walk before I purchase any Pennzoil product, ever. There are many video's on YouTube regarding the conduct of Shell Oil in Nigeria.

I have been building Turbo 4 , 6 , V6 , V8 engines and turbocharging them for over 30 years my first was a Factory 79 Mustang Turbo , I build the engine , I build the turbo kits , I tune them on my DynoJet dyno , I have a Superflow inhouse flow bench just to clear up I am not some "stupis mechanc" I have built hundreds or Turbocharged engines and I use Mobile 1 50wt oils and will use nothing else , Now to flip this over I am not reading about this oil does this and is better because of the test shown or some number thats given to an oil , I test it in the engine then see the bearings , the Cyl walls , the crankshaft and see the ware , I have NEVER taken a physics or engineering course and dont need one , I can look at the engines ware , the temps it gets to before issues and know if I want that oil in my engine , how many engines have you taken apart to see if your letters / numbers in a book match what the engine ware is ?

Please don take anything above or this wrong , I am not trying to start an argument but your data is from books that are on the internet , have you ever run engines then taken them apart to see what kind of ware an oil has , hearings , Cyl walls , crank shaft , cam bearings . numbers in a book are great but a lot of times when it comes to oils they dont match with what I have seen , like amsoil , RP I see no less ware from them then Mobile 1 Syn but the # show there should be
Only data that counts to me is what I can see when I take an engine apart weather it be one pass or a full years race look at the bearings , that data you can use

I am not going to get in the middle of this as I have learned that talking about oil brands is a lot like talking about religion - too much passion, too much history, too little reliance on facts for anything productive to come of it. Remember, the SAE (label) viscosity tests stop at 212°. That is well below what your oil will run when on track.

Most modern vehicles have a cooling system that runs at 190 deg. F.+ and the engine temperatures are far greater than 212 deg. F., especially on the cylinder walls.

Oil temps measured at the sump over 260° are common place for track day participants. Spot temps will be higher. Viscosity measurement procedures that end at 212° aren't too useful.

I have used M-1 5w20 in all 5 of my previous foci. I use M-1 5w30 in my 04 Yukon Denali started when she had over 160K on it not one problem. I plan on using M-1 in my ST after brake in. I seem to side with Tom on this.

For the love of god, you don't read well do you?

My claims are for Mobil 1 5w30 on turbo vehicles only.

I showed proven data. I don't give a shit if you used different weights on different vehicles for different purposes.

If someone wants to run Mobil 1 5w30 and send in a used oil analysis to see how much it shears, please do so for the sake of data collection. Tom and I both agree about running the more durable oils.
