So i bought one of the EMPI ones from Rock Auto

NOTE FOR EVERYONE:

In my search for the correct spline count, I soon found that it was an elusive number
SO here it is. For an SVT FOCUS the spline count is 34 inner/25 outer.

Note that the outer spline count is the same as any other focus due to similar knuckles.

In terms of the shaft itself, seems to work great, easy to install, good price, shipped fine, new shaft with no core charge, cost like $80, yadda yadda, rock auto is a great thing.

I'm still having other sounds though and they worry me.. I believe it is like bd8134 said, My dad and I over tightened the bolt and pressed the bearing, now we are having issues finding that sweet spot. In the mean time, i think the bearing is bad anyway and needs to have a new one pressed in.

Overtighten the bolt... what bolt? The "retaining" clasp on the passenger side CV shaft? the Nut you use gets tighten down to 170+ foot Lbs... It take a LOT of work to over-tighten the nut.

I replaced the passenger cv shaft in my 2002svtf last year. I had a squeal/chirp off and on and the outer boot was worn badly. In addition I had replaced the bearing, brake pads, rotor, strut, around the same time. Still didn't solve my occasional noise problem. Like the OP the sound would increase under corner and acceleration load. After a lot of trial and error later I found the problem to be the heater/AC cabin blower motor/fan. A worn bearing turned out to be the culprit, making a squealy chirpy noise when slight pressure was applied under load. I swapped it out for a new one from RockAuto for $55. Might not be your problem but just a thought as it is difficult to detect the difference from sound coming from there or the passenger wheel well when it the car needs to be in motion and under load to hear it. Good luck.

Holy smokes I wonder if thats my problem. How did you eventually track it down? Mine also "rattles" in the cage every once in a while when I use the defrosters but I assumed the "clunking" noise was suspension.

Yea I just stared hearing a roaring at Highway speeds, I'm pretty sure its the carrier bearing on the Pass side CV shaft. Is that alone just replaceable? Or does the whole shaft have to be changed? CFM wants $360 for the shaft.... local parts stores want $60.... little confused....

Likely the part store did not know you had an SVT. The SVT ones cost more and are harder to find. 60 is even cheap for a non SVT. I would say buy on rockauto.com however I don't think they "stock" the SVT ones.

I bought my axles at stockwiseauto.com, manufacturer is GSP, part numbers NCV11153 and NCV11154. Paid 110ish shipped for both sides. As far as I can tell these are the same parts that Advance Auto sells, the part numbers are the same anyway. Stockwise seems to be a newer company very similar to Rockauto, had no issues with my order.
