$35-$40K will get you a very exclusive car in the RS. Even w/o AWD, they are gunning for the STI or GolfR type market, which is up in that price range.

It's not gonna be. Get used to it. If not, I'll just get the one you're not buying. Win/win

It will be FWD. Forever. Im hoping good things in the future, Like the Top Gear review for the recent body style. Closest thing youll get to handling like a lamborghini for the price. However just like back in the early 2000's when we didnt think the sti or evo would make it here, we now see every 18 year old and senior citizen driving them.
It will come! ST is the gateway drug

I hope it comes here. But I've wanted that twice before and it has no effect on the outcome. This one does seem like it would have a good chance though. If i'm able I would buy one, but I doubt I could... still being in college and all.

That photo is hella sexy. And if I had the money I would also jump on that ... but any higher than 35 and it would be pressed hard for Ford to pull me from an older M3 for this ride at that price.

To all those AWD RS hopefuls out there, not looking good:
Quote:
Initial discussions to use electric motors on the rear wheels to boost performance and cut emissions were reportedly deemed too expensive to develop and a negative distraction for buyers.

Engineers are said to have appraised using the Kugaís four-wheel drive system, which uses the same platform, but itís reportedly too heavy and tricky to package in a low-slung, sports-orientated car.

dont understand why youd spend 40k on a FWD car. an Evo 8 is faster around a track than the RS. and you can get one of those ALOT cheaper than this, and have AWD. the stock 8 is only a second behind the murcielago around the top gear test track, while the RS is more than 5 secs SLOWER than an 8. sorry, i love the focus and the mystic of the RS, but its just not worth it in IMHO. not for 40k

To be fair, that was the FQ400. Not a base version at all.

US Spec only had ~280BHP.
