They work 4 months out of the year, have machinery that basically does all the work for them, and then expect society to praise them like their sacrificing something. This type of commercial is something I would see appropriate for war veterans or military service, not farmers...

There is a big difference between corporate farms and privately owned farms. Your description is very accurate for the for former, definitely not the latter.

I have family in Kansas who are farmers, own their own land, and work their butts off, and they definitely don't fit your description. maybe farming in ND is different... I don't know, but the ad's description of farmers is much more accurate than yours for the farmers I know.

That is why I liked the ad. It praised a portion of our society that rarely every gets praise. Would I love to see a similar ad about the military? As a veteran, of course I would. But the military is not the only group of people in this country who do not get nearly enough credit for what they sacrifice for the rest of us.

+1. To all of that. Most of the farmers I know are exactly the type depicted in the commercial, sun up to sun down workers, usually longer.

When I watched the ad, I just mentally inserted Super Dutys in place of all the Ram trucks. Made it much more enjoyable and factual, at least around here. Chevys and Dodges are typically pavement queens, while the Fords, mostly Super Dutys, do all the work.

But really, the reason that ad was great had nothing to do with the product it was selling, it is just an awesome monologue by Paul Harvey.

Jeep one was definitely the best and only one that stuck out when u just watched them. The Ram one had to much to do with religion. What happened to the funny commercials?

The kia commercial was majorly idiotic. They murdered a nerdy journalist for smudging the windows and mildly kicking the tire. What technology where they even showing off? That their car looks like a cheapened 2012 Ford Focus sedan clone instead of the 2006 Era civic the current one is based off of.

This is the reason I liked the Jeep commercial so much.
