Also, has anyone tried this kit? What do you guys think about it? I don't like the idea of changing the factory setup, but this kit looks decent and the aftermarket radio would make everything sound better.

Hello, you mentioned that the power antenna wire you used as the loc power wire is "hot" as long as the hu is turned on. If you receive a phone call with the hu turned off does the call still play thru the speakers or will the amps be powered off? Does the sync system somehow power the hu on when you receive a phone call?

Tt69camaro, I assume you'd be using a LOC. I suggest using the rear speakers for a sub amp, and be sure to set up the amp crossover and such.

hello all. Does anyone know if the 6 speaker system has a built in crossover for the fronts?
Im wondering if i can just use the stock amp to power some high efficiency component speakers replace the tweeter and door speaker and rely on the stock crossover ? or is it better to run the tweeter wire to the door and use the included crossover instead?

I'd use the supplied crossover, but thats just me. I'd want the speakers to work as intended. However, you could probably get away with using the stock amp/crossover.

i was just looking at ways to reduce running wires.
i assume its still just a 4 channel amp on the hu and the tweeters and front door speakers share the same channel? idealy id like to buy some 6" mids and leave the stock tweeters but unsure how that would effect the amp.

Not sure, I don't have the Sony system, just upgraded the stock setup. But in previous cars, I would always take out the stock equipment and replace. FYI
