2013 Titanium or ST

Have you driven both? I think you'll like the way the ST drives better than the Titanium.

I was just faced with the same dilemma. I really planned on getting the ST until I sat in it. I guess I am just old but I found the ST seats too firm and the ride a little too harsh. I will be driving 1.5 to 2 hours a day and I need the comfort more than the HP.

I also really wanted a manual but the only manual I could find was in black. I just don't care for black vehicles. To each their own. So far, the DCT with the select-shift option has been enjoyable to me. I think a lot of the complaints people have with the DCT is because it drives more like a manual than an automatic and they just aren't used to how a manual transfers power. Granted, my car is only a week old and may exhibit some issues after it fully breaks in.

I also didn't like that the ST does not have the backup camera as an option. I really don't get that one. The backup camera and sensors are great for backing the car into the garage.

I still wish I had found a manual but I don't feel that bad thanks to the DCT. The heated seats and mirrors have already come in handy as well.

We have 21k miles on our SEL and the DCT transmission has been perfect from day one. Very smooth and quick shifts.

Guys this is a truly tough decision to make. Let me explain a few more things. I'm buying the focus bc my f150 is not fuel efficient to be a DD. 2 months ago I never needed a DD(I took the train to work) my f150 was only used to take my bikes to the track maybe used once or twice in the week during the week but that was it and in the summer I ride as longs as its not raining but now I moved and if I need to get around I have to drive. I want the ST for the power and manual but I keep telling myself that's what my motorcycles are for just get the Ti but is the DCT really that much of a headache for some that you rather not risk it?

Most of the issues/complaints with the DCT seem to be from the early 2012 models. Only time will tell. I completely understand where you are coming from because I came from a 2007 F150 myself.

I no longer have a bike either but I am planning on getting another one at some point.

Yea it's not the best on gas but i have to keep it to transport the bikes

So why a Ti? Why not a similarly equipped SE and save yourself some cash? I got a $24k SE with every option except moonroof and rear sensors out the door for $20k. Helluva deal! A comparable Titanium was 4 grand more... just for some pushbutton start, and door handles with sensors? No thanks.

Its a "tuner" car, back up cam option wouldnt sell well. As for the seats im pretty sure someone with a +12' tit would of traded with u

It's more than just the seats. If I were buying a second car I would have bought the ST. But the seats, firmer suspension, and lower mileage just didn't make sense for a commuter vehicle.

If I bought an ST I wouldn't take parts off that add value to the experience of that vehicle. I love the ST so don't get me wrong. I just made the choice that made the most sense for my needs.

The Ti model provides a lot more than just the intelligent key. I prefer the subtle styling differences as well as the additional standard options.

You really need a backup cam in a five door hatch? that's what mirrors and turning your head are for. i understand backup cams in large vehicles but hatch's...they simply do not belong and are not necessary, in my mind. i back into my garage with my '06 zx4 without a backup cam or sensors just fine, everyday.
