Preferred Dealership

Hey all,
I purchased my vehicle in a dealership in MD about 30 minutes away. Do I have to go to them to get my car checked, or anything else for that matter, which is okay to get checked under warranty?
Can I go to any dealership (closest) and they will treat me the same even though I purchased elsewhere?

I need an oil change and maybe to see if they could install my rear mudflaps for me.

Thanks.

Of course. I go to a 5 minute from me dealership for everything now. I got my tsbs done there, too. I'm not gonna go out of my way to the farther one. They have all the info, anyways.

Sigh, thanks. I wish I had asked before driving 30 mins to the dealership in MD just for them to say everything's okay - i feel dumb. On the bright side everything's okay.

No worries. Its good that you care enough. Of your car to even think about that.

I care a lot about my car... i'm sortof obsessed haha. Today I signed up for SYNC Owner and ran my first vehicle health report - everything okay! (I've driven 3,000 miles since I got the car on Dec. 15, and have not yet changed the oil) - I intend to change oil this weekend.)

Will the dealers install third-party parts, accessories, and/or graphics/decals? For example. Or will they only install Ford/OEM things? Speaking of which, does OEM (original equipment manufacturer) imply Ford? (Ford=OEM?)

Thanks.

For installing third party items some dealers will some will not.
Depends on the dealer.
As for buying a car one place and taking it to another... I have done that no problem.
Usually it is because the preferred dealer did not have the car i wanted in stock.
The service dept does not care where you bought it!

Only if that selling dealer had a 'free loaner for service with new purchase' when servicing.. then only that selling dealer would give you the free loaner. Or other freebies.. like free oil changes.. etc. That is a dealer thing. and no other dealer is going to honor it.

well the lip can obviously be done DIY. I'm talking about difficult installations such as rally stripes.

Rally stripes aren't difficult, they just don't do the car's appearance any favors, just make it a cop magnet.

yeah, you're right it does make it a cop magnet. Maybe when I calm down after a few years (this car is too much fun to drive), then i can add rally stripes :)
