Then just order projectors but why did you go with a 55 watt? Trying to make a flood light? Thats probably too hot for the minis as small as they are id get a 35 watt kit and sell your balasts

On the TRS Morimoto mini kit 55W is not raccomended. Read their forum about that. The risk, i think, is to overheat the projector and distort optics.

I got the 55W kit out of curiosity - wanted to see if there was a huge difference between them and the 35W kits (I have two 35W kits lying around in my garage). Since I still have the OEM reflector housings, I kept the 55W on the car... but I guess I'll need to swap back to the 35Ws when I retrofit.

BTW - from personal experience, a 55W kit definitely has a stronger light output (just putting it out there)... I haven't had any issues with them (using relay harness and resistors) and would recommend them to anyone who doesn't plan on retrofitting projectors but still want HIDs. :)

My previous setup was 55W HID on reflectors. Yes, 55W is a huge output, but lot of glare everywhere. I was also using H7-R instead of normal H7 xenon because of the partial shield on the bulb.
Retrofi is another planet.
