Here's one I took in my parking lot when I got home. Owner must be someone working in the building. Nothing better then 4X4, especially in an Alero, that's a super rare car.

That reminds me of the "gentleman" that came into my shop the other day wanting all-terrain tires for his Chevy Malibu. I thought I misunderstood and asked, "You mean all-season tires?" To which he replied, "No, I have a dirt driveway with not much gravel on it, I wanted something all-terrain, like a truck tire." I calmly explained to him that most manufacturers wouldn't offer tires anywhere near the size he needed in an "all-terrain" tread pattern. I showed him the most aggressive car tire I could get, but he wanted something "gnarlier." Yep, I made the same expression you just made . Didn't even get a chance to explain how poorly his Malibu would ride with tires like that on it...

Back in the 80's you could get mud/snow tires that were pretty much all terrain thread pattern, right down to 13". I had a set for the old Cavalier wagon, used to follow the jeeps up the river and mountain. Now its all about the rubber composition and temperature, not the depth and width of the threads, mud and snow tires have gone their separate ways.

That's also back when cars were riding mostly on shocks, except for some bigger cars which were still on leaf springs on the rear. More aggressive tread didn't really make much of a difference compared to today's suspension set-ups. Cars are just like everything else, they've become far more sophisticated, but also more finicky.
