I would go with the WRX, but thats my taste. I dig hatches. I just think it would be easier to live with, cheaper on insurance, and attract less police attention.

v6 mustangs are almost as bad as the mustang II in my opinion

Yeah so not cool that they can run 12s with just bolt ons, and still get pretty much 30 on a highway trip...

I respect the mustang v6s, throwing down as much power as the GTs of just a few years ago.

But if it were me, I would always go WRX over Mustang.

Something about hatches, man. Aftermarket is probably about the same for both.

but if your commute was a concern with the ST, these choices might not be any better haha

Since the other car is AWD (big fan here) and a versatile hatchback, the Mustang would be a hard sell if it were me.

I don't know how much longer the life cycle is on the WRX, but the Mustang is getting a major change for 2014, so now would be the worst time to buy one unless you're totally in love with the current one and know you won't like the new one. There's a lot of different mock-ups of what it may look like, but one way or the other, 2014 keeps popping up as the year it happens. The pictures I've seen suggest strong influence from the Camaro and G37, along with the new Ford Aston-Martin-ish grille.

They're great cars, but I think they'll be greater next year, so if you end up getting your heart set on one, I'd soldier on another year with the VW. Again, just an opinion.

Yeah but the WRX is getting a little long in the tooth as well, and this might be the future for that model.

But I'd say don't wait, there will always be a better model down the road. Get what you want now, upgrade later lol

I'm very curious about the next gen WRX. The current one gets not so great mileage. The new Forester XT that just came out is rated a much better 28mpg highway. (It has the 2.0T that's supposed to be slated for the WRX) If it gets that engine, it could easily be 30mpg, which is solid for a truly AWD car.

That is a really tough choice. I would say it depends on if you want to carry junk around. If not then get the mustang.

$500 for snow tires. and leaves you $1500 towards a summer setup of your choice, and lowering it. That's not counting that you could get a couple hundred at least for the stock all seasons that are brand new.

While not a huge fan of the wheel appearance itself, it's far more than a tire/wheel package. Revised stability control programming with the ability to turn it completely off, uprated f/r stabilizer bars, uprated front spring rates, 3.31 lsd (vs 2.73 lsd), upgraded calipers and pads f/r, strut tower brace, and with the Premium an engine cover.

Granted, it may need a drop but that is fairly easily addressed and 17" take offs seem to be plentiful as a winter solution.

Certainly more practical, and I think I may miss that, though I've had sedans before. I have ran insurance quotes on several vehicles - the Mustang was actually less costly than a WRX. I'd get white on either, so hopefully not too much of a police magnet
