Point and simple. You MIGHT beable to find a turbo kit for 1500. BUt it will cost you Atleast another 3k to transform the car into supporting that turbo kit.

I've owned 4 turbo cars and I SC'd my Integra Type R and with the Honda SCing kept the power delivery the same but gave the engine a much needed bump with power down low but in the end I was only getting about a 40whp but it gave the car a little over a half second jump in the 1/4 mile. I was only running a 7psi pulley and didn't want to push it anymore on such a high compression motor.
With my Eclipse already being turboed and a boost friendly 8.5:1 compression the car responded so well to mods. I prefer turbo since you can vary the power at the turn of a knob or with a button to suit the drive/race or the octane you are running and I love the top end power. With autoxing the Type R was obviously better suited with it's lightweight and stiff suspension and the SC was nice with it's linear power curve vs my Eclipse's power coming on and off very abruptly which made it hard to drive smoothly. The Eclipse was better suited to high speed track or just the dragstrip.

Just remember, supercharged take power to make power where as turbos don't. Ill take mid and high end power over low end power. A little turbo lag never hurt anybody. |
