Audiophile 9006: Best FM transmitter for iPods? Other Ipod connection options?
Looking for some recommendations to get Ipod connectivity to the SVT 9006 stereo head unit. Any recommended FM transmitters that really deliver clear sound? Any way to hard wire and make an AUX input?

don't use a wireless fm transmitter. they all suck. if you really wanna keep the factory unit then use a wired fm modulator. plugs in through the antenna. same concept with better results. you'll just need the modulator and forward and reverse antenna adapters to make it work. however i would still recommend just doing an aftermarket headunit. the best options and not much more cost for a basic one. will also get you better sound quality overall.

Good information. I would like to keep the stock head unit, unless there is an aftermarket one that looks like a perfect mate to the SVT dash. Maybe I need to open a new thread for replacement head unit suggestions. Thanks.

check out the first thread in here the headunit gallery. plenty of pics in there to give you an idea of what's available.. or you can always do a remote location install such as mounting the headint in the glovebox or somepleace else. factory look with aftermarket performance.

Milton, thanks for reply and the photos. I like it. A lot. I have an 02 Camaro SS (another wheeled passion, along with 3 SVT Foci), and it has the FM transmitter for iPod connectivity, installed by prior owner. Works great, but not sure if Audiovox unit--I will check. Until I saw your post and photos, I didn't fully understand the wiring. Now I do.
And your comment about signaling the iPod to go pause, when ignition is turned off, is important. Thanks.
