ST Performance Academy

Anyone heard of this? I've been watching videos of these events and it makes me really want to do it! It's basically a timed lapped event where you go out and try to get the best time on the course in your ST. I assume they teach you a thing or two about the cars performance too. If anyone has heard of this and has more info it would be appreciated.

That's old news, and was only held right around the time of the car's launch to get it into the hands of enthusiasts. All of those cars belonged to Ford.

Yeah I just did some more research on the event and it was apparently only right before the car came out. Bummer. Anyone know of any other type of "performance" driving schools? I know BMW has an owners club where they take you to a closed course and teach you things. I consider myself a good driver but I've never been but through the paces like one of these courses would teach me. You can never have too much car control...

If Ford offered anything like that in northern California I would attend.

As I recall, the ST Performance Academy also limited your gearing. It wasn't really an all-out performance challenge on a track. More like a marketing event in a parking lot. (Not that that's not a reason to go, given that cars weren't available at the dealer.)

There are lots of commercial outfits, somewhat dependent on where you live, often specializing in particular makes of car.
