Stock shifter on a focus, can be turned into short shift free

i dont know if anyone knew about this but its really simple to do. my throw used to be 4 inches now its 3 1/4

Moved to "Duratec Performance". While it may be a cheap mod it's not very practical when the boot won't even fit on there properly. And you said it was banging on the front of the console from where you raised that part to high. I know some people have actually cut off about an inch or two from the shifter and added an aftermarket knob. It has the same principles as an aftermarket short throw shifter, making the shaft shorter. But with the aftermarket STS you have the advantage of everything fitting properly and you can put your old shift knob back on without any problems.
