2012 Focus Transmission Shaking

My 2012 Focus SE is back at dealer for similiar issues- 18k (local rep is involved..) back in October Clutch pack & seal replaced... reocurred now about 3500miles later.... what gives? They gave me a loaner & its a 2013 Focus & actually runs great! Suggestions,,,thoughts..thanks( I do have confidence that it will be resolved but wonder whats happening?) MJB

Let us know what they find or fix. That would be strange to have the seals go bad again so soon after being replaced.

Ford's 'solution' appears to be telling people that the obvious problems with their car (that aren't present on other Focuses) are normal... until the warranty runs out.

Thats why I suggested all owners pool together and push Ford to warrant the transmissions unconditionally for 10years 150K miles if they think they are realiable.... if they are,,the warranty will never be used.... MJB

It doesn't matter what the warranty says.

Ford only needs to tell the dealership to utter the magic words "it's normal" and they don't have to fix anything... not even the problems their own dealerships caused.

Unfortunately Ford has a mixed track record on this type of stuff. The '06 Explorer 4.6 V8 had spark plug issues so they redesigned the heads during the '07 model year to solve it (may have affected the Mustang too). Ok great job Ford. But the '06+ Explorer 4.0 V6's had a bad radiator design and to this day owners are still replacing their radiators for the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th times at $500+ a pop and Ford has apparently never issued so much as a TSB on it. Hopefully whatever issues still remain with out DCTs (I think it's mainly the software) fall into the former category.
