ISO prior owner: 04 Red SVT ZX5, Houston

Hello, I just bought a '04 Focus SVT ZX5 at West Houston VW Dealership. It is a factory Steeda modified car, and Texas owner was 2nd owner. I will be the third. I am seeking any documentation, especially window sticker. Will pay.

I am in VA. The car was originally purchased in FL in 2004, and then sold in 2008 to Texas resident. Now I will pick it up in TX and take to VA. I am third owner.

Will fly to to TX, then drive back to VA, safely I hope. The distance is no problem--how many 2004 Red SVT ZX5's with European Appearance Package (EAP) do we see everyday? Been looking for a while--only 29 made.

Plus, the serialized Steeda package is a bonus, and it will be fun to play with and compare.

The 2004 SVT 4-door with the EAP is one of my beloved autos of all time. I used to have Porsche 911 Turbos, custom ordered with the $2300 sport seats, and I'll take the SVT EAP leather Recaros any day of the week. Just fits me. And the absence of high, long shifter/center tunnels in the '02-04 SVT's makes for great driving comfort. In fact, I feel really "squeezed in" in the 2013 Focus, versus the '02-04 models. Just my personal preference.

I paid the asking price at the dealership--$6900. Dealer would not budge on price--not a nickel. I wasn't crazy about the 114k mileage, but cosmetically the car seems a 8.5/10. No problems other than a needed re-paint of rear mirrors. And Carfax report is super clean--no issues, and only two owners.

Good idea about contacting Steeda. That should help in answering my questions about how many SVT's got this Steeda package and was it corporate, dealer, or customer ordered.

And yes, I will order the SVT certificate. Sure would love to see the window sticker and Steeda manual supplements, if any.

Welcome to the forum. I was also very tempted to buy this car when it was up for sale a few years back. A local member who goes by "Voices" ended up buying it. I didn't realize it was traded in, hopefully its still in excellent condition.

Yes, that is the car. It has the Steeda emblem on the front grill instead of Ford Blue Oval and Steeda emblem on rear. I found photos when it was sold to the Texan in 2008. Really beautiful in 2008 with about 45k miles.

I don't know why it was traded in. Maybe there are mechanically issues, and maybe not. I'm getting an inspection, but, assuming nothing major, I'm satisfied. I bought my first 04 SVT EAP ZX5 with a bad clutch from a dealer, knowing I was going to be out some dollars. It was "take it or leave it" from dealer. I took it. But is was one-owner Orange with 48k miles and window sticker. Thanks for the message. I would still like to find the owner just to locate any documentation conveyed by the original owner.
