I just had another thought, can I see what APIM module I have through Test Mode? If I were to go check that on my car could we verify if it's different from the 2012's?

Are you referring to both vehicles being equipped with MyFord Touch, kb911? If so, the same software is available.

kb911 was referring to both vehicles being equipped with Sync with MyFord, not my ford Touch. 2013 Focus models come equipped with the software to run applink if they have the first generation sync with MyFord system v. 4.0.x vs the 2012 which was not available with applink or the software updates to enable it.

This feels a lot like being left out in the cold more so than the long time it takes to update MFT as there has been no released updates for Sync w/ Myford made available for my car since day one, although it has also been somewhat unstable from time to time.

Thank you Suss6052. Another gripe I want to add was I love how when I purchased my car the dealer kept saying i could use sync commands to change radio stations and launch sirius seems kinda pointless that you can request usb, bluetooth audio, phone, or services, and not sirius or radio

If it makes you feel any better, that is still an annoyance on the 2013's. I feel the exact same way! Took me like a week to realize there just was no command for Sirius. I guess they reserve that for MFT only.
Oh well, once the trial expires I don't plan to renew it anyway.

funniest part is when the 2012 was released direct on Fords website showed the commands and the picture of our my ford with being able to change the radio stations and sirius. Also the trial has nothing to do with the normal voice commands but I really wish applink was available since I use sync destinations a lot for work its one of the best around

I actually meant the Sirius trial, not the Sync Services trial, but now that you mention it, I probably won't renew that either. 60 bucks a year sounds incredibly outrageous when the only thing worth paying for is destinations and my phone can give me turn-by-turn through the car speakers and bluetooth.

I keep thinking about this more, and I wonder how hard it would really be to pull some binaries off these APIM modules... I wonder how many different versions of the hardware are really in the field? If a spare APIM module isn't that expensive maybe I can see about getting one to play with...

I hate the fact sirius got rid of my favorite chanel bbc radio 1 although I am liking a couple of others and my family decided to be on the same billing so its a pretty good deal for three radios.

where did you see $60 my trial doesnt end until 2014 and couldn't find any pricing but if its 60 bucks a year that is an amazing deal! hyundai charges depending on the services you want 160/240/300 and my fathers pontiac with onstar is 385 a year

oh i also forgot to mention that at the service depart they said they couldnt see any difference in the modules but out of voiding my warranty they did not want to try and install the software...bummer :-(
