Bulbs that give off a close to HID look

Im looking to replace the bulbs in the ST. I am looking for something that is close to an HID look as far as color / brightness.

Suggestions?

HID's :) Any bulb that would get close to the look of an HID with out being an HID will burn hot. The bulbs will be very hot and could start melting things. Not to mention they wont last long. Thats my 2 cents from past experiences.

Well ok maybe I should restate my post.

What is a good bulb / brand....that will project a good white light.


I did have some bulbs in my 03 ZX3 and I remember they ran too hot and started making the back inside of the headlight housing bubble. So I know about the running too hot.

Dont waste your money on any bulb that is "colored" or has a filter on it. >This< is a great explanation why bulbs like the one suggested in this post are almost always complete trash. Rule of thumb is that if the bulb isn't clear (ie. the glass looks blue, yellow, etc), all its going to do is filter out perfectly usable light in favor of giving you a "pretty" color.

I ran GE Nighthawks and Philips VisionPlus bulbs on my old ZTS and was always very happy with them. I plan on putting a set of the Nighthawks in my high beam sockets for my HID lamps.

Just do the H11 to H9 conversion, light isn't white but is much brighter.

Lets say this. I dont like the off white / yellowish tint of the stock bulbs and just want something that is more clear I guess you would say.

For me the Sylvania zXe and is nice and white (not blue). I have used Phillips Vision Plus and Phillips Crystal Vison Ultra which are both quite good but I prefer the zXe.
I do not have any experience with the GE Nighthawks and would not comment on anything I did not have any first hand knowledge about.

I used philips crystal vision ultra on my focus and loved them. Definitely brighter than stock and not obnoxious or blue like some tacky HIDs. The were white for sure, 4300k I believe

Second on the zXe's. they are probably one I the whitest halogens I have seen/used. They put out lots of light compared to any stock bulb. A little pricy but well worth it IMO.
