Code P0123
Hello, Purchased our 2008 SES about two months ago. Worked great for the first two weeks then started getting check engine light along with the wrench light.
Took it into our local dealer was told it was the TB, bought a new in box TB off of ebay was much cheeper than at the dealer still having the same problem. Changed the plugs, cleaned out the MAF and replaced the fuel filter still have the same problem. Was able to pull a P0123 code off of it this past weekend. Wondering if there is a diffrence in the TB from the dealer and the one bought off of ebay that was still new in the factory box, that would eliminate this problem or if anyone else has had the same problem and what a soluition might be. Any help is much appreciated. |

DTC P0606

I'd check the wiring/connectors as a first step. Look for corrosion. wiring breaks/chafes, condensation, etc. As long as the ebay one is a genuine Ford part (factory), it shouldn't be a problem. Should have a Ford stamp on it somewhere.
Code particulars below for reference: P0123 - Throttle Position (TP) Circuit High Input The TP sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for a high TP rotation angle (or voltage) input through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM). If during key ON engine OFF or key ON engine running the TP rotation angle (or voltage) changes above maximum calibrated limit, the test fails. Causes: TP sensor not seated properly TP circuit short to PWR VREF short to PWR SIG RTN circuit open to TP sensor Damaged TP sensor Damaged PCM A TP PID (TP V PID) reading greater than 93% (4.65 volts) in key ON engine OFF, continuous memory or key ON engine running indicates a hard fault. |
