Yesterday I made it 3/4 of the way through putting a new engine in my CBR.

just have to re-install the carbs/tank, hook up the wiring and harness and should be ready to fire up (fingers crossed that the 3rd motors the charm)

Fingers crossed the carbs don't need to be synced. That's a PITA.

probs ok, but tuning the carbs to the motor would give you the best performance... but syncing is a different issue if i understand it correctly.

They are likely fine, as long as something didn't get knocked out of whack. Rejetting isn't a horrible idea, but that'll be once it's up and running.
