The wife chose the colors, if it were my choice the focus would be blue candy and the escape would be deep impact blue.

Yeah, the old v-6's were high winding and rev happy. The drawback of an oversquare engine is very low torque output. The 2.0 EB puts out more torque than the 3.5 in the fusion sport and edge.
