Question Sony stereo isn't 'remembering' settings

Recently I've begun to really learn about cars and start to fix the little annoying things about my '03, so here's the next step.

I have the Sony Xplod Mex Bt5100, a bluetooth stereo, installed.. It's been in there about a year and some change.

Ever since I've had it in there, though, I have one problem: the stereo isn't (correctly) hooked up. For instance, if I set the clock to the current time, by the time I take the key out and put it back in, it resets to 1:00 (along with all my other settings). Along with this, any time I play a CD, if the car turns off it will also reset back to track one.

However, it does keep my phone's settings which is weird. (My iPhone connects via Bluetooth when my car starts).

I have figured that it has some problem to do with the constant, but I just cannot figure it out.

After searching Google, someone on Yahoo answers suggested to switch the yellow and red wires because aftermarket stereos have those switched occasionally. It didn't turn on after I did this, so the problem must be elsewhere.

It's only a minor annoyance, but I would love to fix this. Thank you to anyone who can help me. You guys are awesome, and I've been relying on you so much to (finally) learn about my car!
