Dos Ti's!

I traded in my fusion and got another titanium, escape this time. So now I have two ti's, a 13 escape and a 12 focus.

here it is

what made you chose the 13 focus in the ti trim, etc. Just curious. i dig both your Ti's

The wife and I discovered years ago that you retain more resale and longer when you have a higher trim model, so we buy the top trim of whatever we buy now. The fusion was an SEL and my truck we traded for the focus was an FX4, well you get the idea. They gave me 17.5 trade for the fusion.

Another reason is we like having all the toys on our vehicles and I can afford it.

Congrats--I have had my 2013 Escape for 6 months now already have 12K miles on it. Love the extra features like the HID headlamps and BLIS system that isn't available on Focus. Two features that I like more than I thought is the power handsfree liftgate and the remote start now that the weather has gotten cold.

Alot of things similar to the Focus--appreciate the Focus inspiried chassis handling, dashboard gauges and many of the controls and operations are the same. Wish it had a better trip computer/MPG readout, same complaint I had with the Focus. Still has the bug ridden MFT too.......the rear camera parking aid lines keep turning themselves off with the newest 3.5.1 update.

I have experienced many of the first year quality/build issues on the Escape much like the 2012 Focus it replaced, but I am glad to be away from the PowerShift transmission and I love the 2.0 Ecoboost.

Ya...except that's not quite true with recent models. My $28k Focus Titanium had a trade-in value of $16k a year after I purchased it. Bummed it up to $16.5k, but that was still above bluebook and blackbook.

Imagine what you would have gotten if you had a stripped focus S. The biggest reason anyone gets such a lowball amount on the MK3 focus is the DCT. They know it's a piece of crap and it reflects on the trade in value. So far mine is flawless, but I only have 8K on it right now.

I'm not sure, but I believe the FWD versions of the 13 escapes and 13 fusions use the same trans as the 10-12 fusions the 6F35. The power from the 2.0 EB is comparable to the old 3.0 v-6 from the MK1 fusions and escapes, 231 on regular unleaded for the EB and 230 for the v-6

I'm already a member of blue oval fanatics which has escape fanatics as part of it and its tied to focus fanatics. But if you know of any other good ones I'll check them out.
