Got the new gasket on, tightened everything up tight and it sounds good, no can rattling sound, only a deep thrum. I can feel the power too. Still get a slight smell of exhaust sometimes.
And when I hit 3,000 rpm there's a high pitched buzz that sounds like a cricket from beneath, think I need to tighten the flex pipe a bit more. I actually like the cricket sound. Gonna give it a couple days and then re-tighten everything. |

I wrapped my header with fiberglass tape... I live in Las Vegas so heat is a issue.. if your in a cold state I would not worry.. but if your summer sees 100 degrees I would try to shield the heat...

Also when you apply the gasket use the copper gasket spray or a heat resistant spray. It adds more strength to the gasket. I bought a new gasket used that spray. Then i bought new screws torqued them and then drove about 1000 miles or so and retorqued and i was ok after that. I believe cossie and fswerks headers should do the same justice.

unnecessary.. this is why it is ceramic coated. By wrapping a ceramic coated header in wrap it actually is worse than better because the ceramic cannot preform as it was meant to

So I shouldn't fry the O2 sensor wires since it's ceramic coated. Thinking I might buy some heat shield material (not tape) and put it against the firewall and covering the O2 sensor, to help direct the heat downwards, or is there no reason and I should just trust in the ceramic coating?

Well don't let it touch the header lol, my O2 sensor wire is hanging a few inches away from my non-coated SVT header and it hasn't had any problems.

I didn't even buy the $80 o2 sensor extender that Fswerks suggest to buy with it. It wasn't needed!

You gotta watch with heat wraps, moisture can collect if not wrapped up properly causing the header to corrode over time. Since you live in Vegas its not a problem for you haha.

My header didn't corrode at all after 5-6 yrs of being wrapped. It only had very light surface rust and you could see the pattern of the wrap
