Exhaust question
I am purchasing an exhaust in the next few days so I can move forward on my SVT header swap. The question I have is: Do I need an SVT-specific exhaust to go with the SVT header conversion? I know of a seller who is telling me that I need the exhaust made for SVT's. I also looked on FSwerks & their race and stealth exhaust systems are different. They got them for the regular Zetec and for the SVT.
Bottom line is - what is the difference. Thanks for any info I get!

If you get a svt header swap, you are most definitely going to need the svt cat and flex pipe. once that is all swapped over a svt exhaust kit will bolt right up. a zx3/zx5 exhaust will be exactly the same but will need modified holes in the flanges that will bolt with the flex pipe. I would just get a svt exhaust to save yourself the trouble. good luck!

A lot of aftermarket exhaust systems make a generic flange on the exhaust/flexpipe connection. Basically what it is is that the flange on the SVT flex pipe is a bit wider than the standard Zetec flex pipe. So the only difference between them is just that flange.
