Please for the sake of me, feed me ideas and links!
okay folks, i recently purchased an 04 zx3 2.0 zetec with 120 on the clock. it was to be a 'put-around' until i have enough time (a.k.a warm weather) to work on my DD a '90 944 S2.
The issue im dealing with now is that i just cant let it be. the car already had a K&N Typhoon intake, lowering springs (leaving the car to need an alignment) and i was informed it had an exhaust (Borla) but i just havent been able to get it picked up high enough to confirm whether or not the note is from the system or if its just intake rumble. What i ask of you, oh knowledgeable fanatics, is what would you do? its a manual with manual everything, locks, windows so i have as little extras as possible. I want power, and maybe even some looks. what can i pick up or do to this little monster that will make it scream? |

you can spend alot of money and go all out all motor or spend about the same and do a turbo kit and make a little more power, the stock bottom end gives up around 300hp so thats about the max you can do before building the bottom end. the zetec seems to react well to intake, SVT header, and exhaust with a tune to tie it all together but other then that you have to do cams and whatnot to get any power from it, and even after all that they dont make that much power N/A. best thing to do is , bolt ons, tune, and then focus on suspension work to make it a fun daily driver

There are plenty of sites out there for the Focus, I would start by going here to get some deals before buying new: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=22 Since you have a ZX3, there are plenty of SVT appearance and performance parts for sale in the part out section The SVT airbox and snorkel with a K&N drop-in is the best intake for your Zetec. Same for the header, none better than the SVT header. Most of us go for an OEM+ look. You can do that with either Euro or SVT appearance parts. You will have to browse ebay.uk and ebay.de to find sellers who will ship euro parts from across the pond. Again, the best place to look for SVT parts ins in the Marketplace(link above) Once you get into performance, you will have to decide to go boost or not. Either way, you will need a tune. One of the best Focus tuners out there is Tom (1turbofocus) check out the tuning forum for more info on that: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=79 Check out Bat Inc (British American Transfer) for more euro parts: http://www.batinc.net/focus.htm Steve at Tousley Ford will give you the best prices on OEM parts, best way to contact him is here: http://forums.focaljet.com/forum294/ http://tousleyfordparts.com/ Nice Deals.uk has great deals on aftermarket Euro parts: http://www.nicedeals.co.uk/index.php More euro aftermarket: http://www.european-parts.net/catalo...nl7ksaca6v00c1 Best place for Rieger parts: http://www.tunershop.com/Spoiler/Rie...=13&modell=124 RS rep spolier: http://www.spoilerexpress.com/Ford-F...07-_p_716.html Steeda: http://www.steedafocus.com/ Massive: http://www.massivespeedsystem.com/ford-focus Nice aftermarket grille: http://cmodgrilles.auctivacommerce.c...e-P101651.aspx Awesome phone mount: http://www.kudausa.com/ford-focus-98-04-black-a264.html New Edge Performance: http://www.newedgeperformance.com/fo...cessories.aspx Headquarters for junkyard Focus parts: http://www.speedwayrecyclers.com/ I am sure I forgot some, but these are just some of the places that I have went for my Focus. Good luck and happy modding!
