Best timing belt, tensioner, pulleys for replacement
I have a 2002 that has a 2004 SVT zetec. I use this for a track car. I need to get some opinions on best brand for timing belt, tensioner, and pulleys. I am fixing to send this over to my local garage for its winter update and these along with a water pump are top priority.
Next I will be adding an additional power steering cooler. Temps get up to around 200 degrees doing track days/racing. |

you will want to go with this stuff from rockauto.com
Gates timing belt kit TCK294B DAYCO 89015 tensioner pulley Gates ko60837 serpentine belt Motorcraft YS258 idler pulley Gates 41013 water pump just ordered this stuff myself.the gates kit I listed comes with the pulleys needed. good luck

My uncle used to own a few napas around me. He sold them off though lol but I would think the part numbers should be the same at least. Rockauto just always seems to have the best prices

i would just get ford timing belt. can't go wrong, same with water pump,
while youre getting new pulleys and such, get underdrive? gates is solid.

Gates makes the best belt wether you have SVT or regular zetec.

I agree with everything said above except for one item. I have always used, and have had no issue with a Goodyear Gatorback serpentine belt. Guaranteed not to squeal, chirp, or squeak. And they are lifetime replacement. Later.

I also got the Gates TCK294B kit and Motorcraft water pump PW368 but off Amazon actually. I usually shop at RockAuto but Amazon had a better price at the time.
For drive belt, I bought at the dealer cause I noticed the previous owner put the wrong size drive belt on which created too much tension so had to do an emergency run to replace that and the tensioner pulley which broke. I've had all these parts for about a year and had no issues. |
